Ready to Perform! Woohoo!
- You understand and can accurately play all notes, rhythms, articulations, dynamics with no hesitations
- You can comfortably play your piece memorized
- You use the pedal correctly
- Your posture is correct (straight back, straight forearms, straight wrists, standing thumbs, curved fingers)
- You are composed and confident when you approach the piano, play, and bow.
Almost Ready to Perform – So Close!
- You understand and can accurately play most notes, rhythms, articulations, dynamics with only a few hesitations
- You can comfortably play your piece with the music, and are able to play most of it memorized
- You use the pedal correctly
- Your posture is correct (straight back, straight forearms, straight wrists, standing thumbs, curved fingers)
- You are somewhat composed and confident when you approach the piano, play, and bow.
Not Yet Ready – Keep Going, You Can Do It!
- You understand and can play most notes, rhythms, articulations, dynamics. There are still hesitations to work out, and parts to get comfier with.
- You are able to play your piece with the music but don’t have it memorized yet.
- You use the pedal correctly
- Your posture is correct (straight back, straight forearms, straight wrists, standing thumbs, curved fingers)
- Your stage presence (how confident and composed you are when you approach the piano, play, and bow) needs a big boost
